Super Bowl XXXVIII, which was broadcast live on February 1, 2004 from Houston, Texas on the CBS television network in the United States, was noted for a controversial halftime show in which Janet Jackson’s breast, adorned with a nipple shield, was exposed by Justin Timberlake for about half a second, in what was later referred to as a “wardrobe malfunction”. The incident, sometimes referred to as Nipplegate, was widely discussed. Along with the rest of the halftime show, it led to an immediate crackdown and widespread debate on perceived indecency in broadcasting, and resulted in a record $550,000 fine levied by the Federal Communications Commission against CBS, as well as an increase of the FCC fine per indecency violation from $27,500 to $325,000. Additionally, some commentators saw the halftime show as a sign of decreasing morality in the national culture.

Kari Wuhrer is an American actress and singer.  Her first television break was working for MTV as a VJ and co-host in the game show Remote Control in 1987.  She then moved into film, appearing in The Adventures of Ford Fairlane and had the leading lady role in Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time.  Her career then took a left turn into a series of straight-to-video sexploitation movies.  Since she was appearing naked on film so often, she decided to get breast implants, as does nearly every TV and movie actress today.

Wuhrer finally captured mainstream attention in 1997 on the TV series Sliders as Maggie Beckett.  This fame helped her movie career only slightly, as her next movies included Anaconda and Eight Legged Freaks.

Wuhrer is also noted as being one of the few Hollywood actresses to have her breast implants removed.  Her implants became encapsulated during the filming of Spider’s Web in 2001, so she had them removed.  She later wrote an article for Glamour Magazine about her insecurities that led her to get implants early in her career, and her later self-acceptance for her natural body.

These photos were obviously taken while she still had implants.  Real boobies don’t stick straight up like this.
